As a member of the team, you’ll be in charge of owning the technology and processes that enable our people to do their best work. We are responsible for identifying, designing, implementing, and supporting the applications to create a streamlined experience for Samsarians. As a Manager, IT Engineering on the team, you will be leading the small, but growing, India IT Engineering team. This role will understand technical architecture and technical delivery of a wide variety of solutions along with process engineering &amp; automation. You will be surrounded by a high-caliber team that will encourage you to do your best.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><a href="https://www.samsara.com/blog/what-we-value-at-samsara/"><em>Click here</em></a><em> to learn about what we value at Samsara.&nbsp;</em></p> <h4><strong>In this role, you will:</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Supervise a small, but growing IT engineering team in India, overseeing critical IT automation, AI and DevOps projects</li> <li>Supervise the evaluation, innovation, development &amp; implementation, of any variety of internal SaaS Engineering automation systems/AI projects geared to produce efficiency at scale</li> <li>Provide formal performance management support and review to all direct India reports, but share dotted line day-to-day supervisory capacity with US leadership</li> <li>Serve as the domain expert on implementation, management, and support of Business technology products and IT applications</li> <li>Develop metrics and dashboards to provide business leadership with meaningful operational/performance metrics and status reports</li> <li>Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact on the organization's application landscape</li> <li>Manage technical requirements gathering, technical gap analysis, and contribute to backlog grooming</li> <li>Integrate and implement best practices and DevOps methodologies in every step of the IT engineering process</li> <li>Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices</li> </ul> <p><strong>Minimum requirements for the role:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, engineering or related field</li> <li>10+ years of experience in an IT Engineering role, with at least 3+ years of managing small teams</li> <li>6+ years experience in software development and infrastructure</li> <li>Related experience in architecture, design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, high-volume software systems, applications and major SaaS solutions</li> <li>Strong experience working with API’s in Javascript (Node.js), Python or Go</li> <li>Strong expertise in AWS and GCP cloud platforms</li> <li>Exposure to scale in a SaaS-first IT environment (Google Workspace, Okta, Slack, Zoom, Github, Zendesk, etc)</li> <li>Strong experience with Terraform</li> <li>Experience with containerization tools, including Docker&nbsp;</li> <li>Solid understanding of source code versioning and exposure to Git, GitHub</li> <li>Must be detail oriented, self-organized, be committed to quality and capable of tracking multiple work streams simultaneously</li> <li>Ability to work in a fast-changing, dynamic, and agile environment, including the ability to manage time and maintain an excellent work ethic</li> <li>Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations</li> </ul> <p><strong>An ideal candidate also has one or more:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Developed and managed applications in a team environment</li> <li>Experience with Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence)</li> <li>Expertise with SIEM Splunk service</li> <li>Expertise in corporate networking and email infrastructure, CCNP+ knowledge</li> <li>Experience with Terraform</li> </ul> <p class="p1">#LI-hybrid<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><strong>Total Rewards</strong></p> <p>At Samsara, we build for the people who keep the global economy moving.
