API Automation Toolkit

Every request you just sent is already automated in five frameworks, ready to run against this same practice API.

The Postman, Bruno and OpenAPI files under Reference and downloads stay free. The toolkit adds five ready-to-run frameworks that test this same practice API, so you can compare tools side by side.

  • Playwright + TypeScript API framework
  • Cypress API framework with custom commands
  • Python pytest + requests with session fixtures
  • Java REST Assured + TestNG + Maven
  • Bruno collection with CLI runner
  • GitHub Actions workflows for all five
  • Top 50 SDET API interview answers
  • Bruno vs Postman cheat sheet and API test plan template

Is the API Playground right for you?

The playground sends real HTTP requests to the QA Practice API, a practice service built for testers. Every visitor gets a private copy of the data, so nothing you change affects anyone else.

Who it is for

  • Manual testers learning API testing for the first time
  • Testers preparing for API testing interview tasks
  • Automation learners who want requests they can turn into Playwright or REST Assured tests

What you need first

  • A browser: no install and no sign-up for a temporary guest workspace
  • Knowing what GET, POST, PUT and DELETE mean helps, but presets show each one
  • A free account to keep a saved workspace, earn ranked points and keep a streak

Good to know

  • Requests go only to the QA Practice API, not to other websites
  • Guest workspaces are temporary and are deleted automatically
  • Free accounts have a daily request limit; forced errors, slow replies and extra labs are Pro features (see Pricing)

Frequently asked questions

1.Do I need an account?
No. Anyone can send requests. Signing in only adds saved requests that follow you across devices.
2.Is the data shared with other testers?
No. You get a private practice copy that resets on request and is removed after 24 hours.
3.Why does creating something return 401?
Changing data needs a login pass. Run the Log in request first; the playground then attaches the pass for you for 15 minutes.
4.How long does my practice data last?
Guest workspaces are deleted 24 hours after they start. Signed-in members can keep up to 3 saved workspaces, each removed only after 30 days without use. Every workspace allows 300 requests an hour and bodies up to 20 KB, and Reset always restores the same starting data.
5.Can I use this from Postman or my own tests?
Yes. Use Copy as code, or call the same address from any tool. Send back the X-Sandbox-Key header to keep using your own data.
