What QA interviews ask at each level

Expectations rise with experience: from testing basics, to automation and APIs, to strategy and leadership.

Fresher QA interview questions (0–1 years)

Testing fundamentals, SDLC/STLC, test design, bug reports, basic SQL.

  • Write reverseString(s) that returns the string reversed without using the built-in reverse().
  • Write isPalindrome(s) that ignores case and non-letters. 'Madam' and 'A man, a plan, a canal: Panama' return true.
  • How would you test a pen?

Junior QA interview questions (1–3 years)

Test cases from requirements, API basics, Selenium/Playwright basics, Git, simple coding.

Interview prep questions, answered

1.How do I start?
Pick the skills you are interviewing for (for example Manual testing, Playwright and SQL), choose your experience level and how many questions you want. You get a random set from those skills, one question at a time.
2.Do I get different questions each time?
Yes. Each set is picked at random, and 'Next set' skips questions you have already seen in this visit until you have gone through the whole pool for your skills and level.
3.What happens if I don't know an answer?
Tap 'I don't know — show answer'. You see the correct answer and an explanation straight away. If you are signed in this costs 1 point (once per question per day), so it pays to try first.
4.How do points and streaks work?
Each question you answer correctly earns 2 points the first time. Your first finished set each day adds a 5-point bonus. Practicing on consecutive days builds your day streak. The leaderboard ranks members by interview-prep points.
5.Are these real company interview questions?
The practice sets cover topics QA interviews commonly test for each skill and level; they are not attributed to any company. Questions tied to a company appear only in 'Asked in real interviews', shared by members and shown as soon as they post, without review. We don't copy questions from other websites.
6.Is it free?
Yes. You can practice without an account; sign in to save points, keep a streak and appear on the leaderboard.
