Performance Tester Role Overview

Performance Testers design, execute, and analyse load, stress, and soak tests. They translate latency, throughput, and error budgets into concrete engineering decisions.

Common responsibilities

Design load, stress, soak, and spike test scenarios
Build performance scripts in JMeter, k6, or Gatling
Instrument apps with APM (New Relic, Datadog, Dynatrace)
Analyse latency, throughput, error rate, and resource saturation
Recommend capacity, autoscaling, and tuning changes
