Overview
How to use the STAR method in tester interviews, with 50 complete sample answers built from real QA situations. STAR means Situation, Task, Action, Result. Spend about 15 percent on Situation and Task, 60 percent on Action, and 25 percent on Result. Say 'I', not 'we', in the Action part. The interviewer is hiring you, not your team. End with a measurable result: time saved, bugs prevented, releases unblocked, customers affected. Prepare 6 to 8 real stories. Each story can answer several questions: conflict, pressure, failure, initiative, leadership. Inside: 16 chapters, including a study guide, 50 questions with sample answers, common mistakes, questions to ask the interviewer, a 7-day preparation plan, a fill-in worksheet and a last-minute revision sheet.
